Selecting a different algorithm per product for each week of forecasting is not feasible with a human-based process – but with StreamWiser™ automated algorithm selection, it is possible to switch algorithms on a weekly basis. The Inventory Management module is driven by a state-of-the-art algorithm developed in collaboration with Prof. Minner and the Chair of Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the Technical University of Munich based on the current problems of the food and beverage industry. The model represents an innovation in the science world due to its unique factors. The algorithm takes into account factors such as minimum shelf life per distribution channel, storage costs, transportation costs, replenishment time, and many other factors. Thus, on the one hand, the algorithm enables a dynamic safety stock and, on the other hand, it enables the determination of the cost-optimal procurement and production lot size.
